At the beginning of this module, you will clearly understand what it takes to move from isolated good practice to system-level integration. You will learn how to analyse the readiness of your system, navigate governance structures, and recognise the legislative and institutional conditions that either enable or hinder integrated health and social care (IHSC).
You will realize that integration is not only a matter of service design, but fundamentally a question of systems, power, and responsibility—where advocacy, leadership, and strategic positioning play a crucial role. This module will help you see your work not as a standalone intervention, but as part of a broader ecosystem that can be influenced and shaped.
YOU WILL DEVELOP THE SKILLS TO
Analyse structural and legislative barriers to IHSC implementation.
Articulate economic arguments for integration in a policy and funding context.
Understand and apply the SCIROCCO Maturity Model across its 12 dimensions.
Critically reflect on the level of system maturity in your own context.
Identify role-specific leverage points where your position can create change.
Develop a realistic, role-based mini action plan aligned with system readiness.
Through this module, you will also strengthen your capacity to act as a professional advocate and leader, recognising that advancing integration is not optional, but an essential responsibility across all roles—from frontline practitioners to decision-makers.
Ultimately, this module invites you to ask:
If integration is the goal, what is my role in making it structurally possible—and what is the next concrete step I can take within my system?
